猎奇重口视频’s School of Business BASC classes are serving their community by conducting a campus canned-food drive that began on October 4th. The classes are taught by Dr. Kassandra Lane, Associate Dean of the School of Business.
“We do a service learning project every Fall term in the School of Business,” Lane said. “The service learning project allows the students an opportunity to volunteer their time to a project to help others within our community.”
Dr. Lane contacted a local charity called Faith in Sharing House (FISH) for the classes to donate their canned goods collection. FISH is a non-profit group funded entirely through donations, grants, and the tireless efforts of volunteers. They stock pantry shelves wall to wall and provide food to those in need around the community.
“They were so excited that we chose to do this project to help them gather needed items right before the holidays,” she said. “Our goal is to fill 30 milk boxes full of cans and non-perishable food items.”
As of October 19th, the group had collected over 600 cans from student donations. They hope to meet and surpass their initial goal. Collection bins are located in The School of Business, the Laney Center, Gates Hall in the Admissions Office, and in the UC down in Pete’s Place.
“I feel so blessed to be able to work with these freshmen and help them see that it can be fun to volunteer your time to help others in a time of need,” Lane said. “Even when life gets crazy, we can all take a couple minutes out of our busy schedule to help others.”
The food drive will conclude on October 28th at 5 pm, but Dr. Lane noted that they will be happy to accept donations until Friday, October 29th.
