Your Success is Our Mission 

“Bridge to Success” is our esteemed 3-week summer bridge program, generously funded by Title V. Bridge to Success provides a comprehensive variety of preparatory classes (English and Math workshops), our acclaimed Basic Achievement Strategies for College course (BASC1200), and many enjoyable activities and events. This initiative is meticulously crafted to empower students with essential skills and bolster confidence prior to embarking on their journey in the Fall semester. Participants have the opportunity to cultivate their collegiate skills while earning their first two college credits entirely tuition-free. Given the exclusive nature of the program, enrollment is limited to a select group of 35 students.

    • Schedule must include 1 of the 5 below:

Nope! The program is tuition-free for participants, including the BASC1200 course, workshops, meals, activities, and dorms during the 3-weeks.

Move-In Day for the “Bridge to Success” program is typically scheduled the Saturday before the official program start date. This allows participants to settle in and attend an orientation session before classes and workshops start. Specific details about Move-In Day will be shared upon acceptance into the program. We look forward to seeing you!

Participants receive:

  • Their first two college credits tuition-free (upon passing BASC1200).
  • English and Math workshops to refine skills.
  • Access to a Title V Scholarship (amounts vary annually).
  • Opportunities to participate in fun activities and events.
  • Confidence-building experiences to prepare for college life.

BASC1200, Best Achievement for Strategies in College, is a foundational course designed to equip students with strategies for academic success and confidence for their collegiate journey. This is a course that all incoming will take in their first Fall 16wk semester. Summer Bridge Participants will have the opportunity to complete it during the 3-week program.

Eligibility is limited to first-time college Hispanic students who have completed their WBU Fall 2025 class schedule and meet the specified course requirements.

Its easy! Complete the Interest Form, which will open in Spring 2025 and ensure that your WBU Fall 2025 class schedule includes one of the specified course combinations in the main WBU Summer Bridge webpage.

The Title V Scholarship is an additional financial award provided to participants. The amount varies year to year based on the funds raised.

Yes! The program is designed to foster connections among participants, helping you build a network of peers even before the semester starts.

The program includes a variety of fun and engaging events, such as team-building activities, social mixers, and opportunities to explore campus life!

The English and Math workshops are designed to refresh your skills, address gaps in knowledge, and build a strong academic foundation for success in your first semester.

If you do not have residence in Plainview and have completed the off-campus housing request and have been approved, participants will have to live on campus.

Yes, meals are included for all participants during the 3-week program!

Absolutely! Families are welcome to assist during Move-In Day. There will also be staff on-site to guide you through the process.

Due to the intensive nature of the 3-week program, it is recommended that students minimize outside commitments to focus fully on their success.

Students are encouraged to communicate any challenges with program staff as soon as possible. Support is available to help you succeed.
