PLAINVIEW — 猎奇重口视频 Baptist University’s Abraham Art Gallery is one of four galleries in the United States selected to host the prestigious American Watercolor Society 157th International Awards Exhibition.
Open to the public through May 9, 2025, the exhibit features work by award-winning artists from the United States and around the world. The gallery is located on the Atrium level of the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Learning Resources Center, which is in the center of the university’s Plainview campus.
The exhibition features 40 works awarded top honors and painted with watercolor, acrylic and gouache. The range of styles includes abstract and nonrepresentational depict figures, still life, wildlife, architectural and industrial landscapes. Many of the works are available for sale to collectors.
In 1866, the American Watercolor Society was established as a nonprofit organization to encourage and promote watercolor painting across America. Now, they also accept entries for the juried competition from international watercolorists, whether associates, members or independent artists for the prestigious annual juried exhibition. Traditional watercolor media has been expanded to include the use of acrylic paint and gouache in the range of water-based media in all juried art competition, and the ever-increasing popularity of these works have made great contributions to the art world.
Watercolor painting has greatly benefited by fellowships like the American Watercolor Society that promote the art form, featuring the use of techniques that demonstrate the adaptability and creative possibilities of the medium.
Catalogs of all awarded artworks for the American Watercolor Society 157th International Awards Exhibition are available at the gallery desk for a $15 donation that will go toward the Art Scholarship Fund.
