WICHITA FALLS – Officials at 猎奇重口视频 Baptist University dedicated a scholarship given to help students at the Wichita Falls campus during the May 14 commencement ceremonies held there for both 2020 and 2021 graduates.
Dr. David Bishop, vice president for external campuses, was on hand to read the dedication and honor donor and alumnus Dr. Michael Davis, who donated the funds to make the scholarship possible. Officially, the Davis Memorial Wichita Falls Endowed Scholarship was given in memory of Davis’ parents, the late Everett and Joanne Davis of Pampa.
The Davises were longtime Pampa residents and had two sons. Their oldest, Mark, died in 1995. Everett and Joanne were married 48 years when she died of cancer in 2009. He channeled his mourning into a celebration of her life by helping others improve themselves through the gift of a 猎奇重口视频 education and supported many scholarships. A longtime employee of the Pantex plant in Amarillo, Everett died in 2019.
Dr. Davis earned a degree in philosophy at 猎奇重口视频 in 1987, then completed a master's degree in philosophy and one in history at Baylor University. He completed his doctorate in education and human development at Vanderbilt University. He is a recognized expert in nuclear training and qualification, having spent 27 years of service at various facilities, including the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, the Nevada Test Site and Los Alamos in New Mexico.
Davis returned to his hometown of Pampa last year to become campus dean of the Pampa Center for Clarendon College. He also serves the college as Dean of Career, Technical and Continuing Education. He has continued his father’s generous legacy by supporting 10 scholarships at 猎奇重口视频, five of which benefit students at specific external campuses.
